Father's day is coming up! / Look back at mother's day

Father's day

With this coming father's day, it's of course, a good way for me to tell my DH how much he's been a great dad but also a great help for me! I haven't been easy to live with last winter with my burn out / baby blues, and as any household with young kids, it seems like chores keep piling up!! Looking back, we both grew stronger as a team and as a family. Our son is my DH's first experience ever with kids, and he's so dedicated! He learned so much and is so attentive to our little one needs! It's amazing to see, at only 13 months, how William is already looking up to his father! I still have no clue of what I will do for him, but I'll figure it out! :)

In the heat of the subject, let me present to you the father's day card I've created for my dad! My dad and I don't have much in common! In fact, growing up, we didn't understand each other lol!!! But he is the most generous person I know. He's not a man of many words, but has a strong and proud heart. He's a handy man and most of all a family man! Here's to my dad :)

Mother's day

Now has for my mother's day, I have many thanks to my DH for the lovely day I had :)
He took me to a great exterior spa with massage included! and we couldn't have had a nicer weather!

As for my mother, she is so supportive and helpful, always available and I can only wish that I'll get to her level one day! Our relationship has evolved so much in the past couple years, I've learned to open up to her and I now consider her as my true friend! She knows how to listen without judgement, and I do sometimes wish I'd still live with her!! just because it seems we don't see each other as much as I would like to! Here's to my mom :)

Clearing stack series ---> BG Sugared #3

Since I was going back to work after my maternity leave, and knew I would be to busy to post for a couple of weeks with the adjustment of our scheduals and everything else.... I then decided to create my posts in advance! but guess what!!!! I forgot to register the dates I wanted them to be posted!!! So here is the next post and card that was supposed to be shared with you a couple weeks ago!!!  The other cards from the series will follow as originaly planed. And oh! I didn't get to create anything since I got back to work either, this is just something else I will have to plan in my schedual at least once a week or else...... I don't know when I could just sit back!

Well, organizing your craft area is definitly good for your inspiration! With that, I've decided that in futur messages I will post on tips and tricks that worked for me, or not! Sometimes, simple solutions are just what we need!

But this post is dedicated to my: Clearing your stack series!!! As I mentionned on my previous blog post, I have too many 6x6 paper pad! I needed to do something about it! My solution, take one paper pad at a time and create as many cards that I can with it! Now this third card is my favorite with the second one I've created for this series! (Since as I'm posting this, this series is completed and I'm currently working on my second one!)

Scraproom status update/ Sugared from BG card series #1, 2

What kind of scrapbooker/cardmaker are you? Do you create standing or sitting, are you messy or neat, do you use your scraps or forget about them, are you a brand and collection expert or do you simply go by color, are you a compulsive buyer or do you buy only when needed, could you define your style, do you have a room dedicated to your crafting or a corner or use the dinning table? Oh, so many questions.... Finding yourself in all of that is important, setting your space as you need it to be will help with your creation process.

I'm currently working on my space, and I think i'm getting to the point that I can see it getting more functionnal for me. When I create, I try to reajust if needed, and keep what I use the most at reach. I've given a box full of goodies that I know I won't use to my nieces, and promised to myself that I will only be buying supplies that I know I will use and need, even when I find great deals! Great deals on supplies you won't use, is still to expensive, don't you think! And that is why defining your style is important so you spend your money wisely!

I've also decided that I don't want to be overwhelm by the amount of supplies I have! I've been collecting 6x6 paper pad! And I've own some of them for very a long time! No longer!!! I started a new creation process! I will take one paper pad at a time and create as many cards that I can with it!

Happy New Year!!!!

There we are, it is time to think about our resolutions and our wishes and expectations for this new starting year!! Mine, well, it has to be what probably over 80% of the population who makes resolution want... have a healthier lifestyle! Yes, I want to lose weight by exercising and by drinking more water, but I also want to live in a more organized and efficient way! I want to plan my meals and recipies so when five o'clock hits, not only will I know what we will be eating, but it will already be cooking! I want to plan my weekly tasks so I never run out of clean clothes or I won't be stressed to clean the house if someones is coming at last minute!! I think it'll be a good year, but a busy year, so I need to think ahead and plan! I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how I wanted things done and what would motivate me to do so yesterday and this morning.....

Hello again....

Seems like it has been a long time since i've posted on my blog...... wait a minute, it has been a long time!!!

I took some much needed time off, didn't scrap much or at all for weeks!! I had made a few cards before but didn't photographed them.... will probably do so next year! I had a nervous breakdown, I think I probably was progressively affected for a very long time, but never really listened to my body or admitted that it could be a possibility! Adding to that a little dose of baby blues and a lack of sunlight and this thing hitted hard! I know you're probably thinking, but with summer time how did you missed vitamin D? well... I live in a lovely little appartment with a HUGE background with a nice community pool, but there are two humongous trees right next to my corner with very dense leaves letting no sunlight in!!! I mean, none at all, I need to turn my lights on all day long during summer!!! so I didn't realize how beautiful it was outside most of the time and didn't feel the heat with the A/C turned on, I simply stayed home... with breastfeeding that was difficult, my lack of sleep, it felt right at the moment! And there I was depressed.... the last couple weeks were good, the leaves fell off letting rays of sun in, I gradually felt better and better, didn't felt like crying anymore... I litteraly felt a heavy darkness inside my head.... I don't know if it makes any sense to you, but it's the only way I can put it into words! It got to the point that opening the curtains in the morning made want to cry!

Since I started to feel much better, I worked on my christmas cards, and letting my creativity flow again helped even more!!! I guess that is what a true passion does to you ;)

I've also made a little photoshot with my son and shiped photos with my cards;)

I've purchased a pakage of these clear snow flakes ornaments, and was so inspired by them... and I've altered them to my needs

here are my latest 2 cards....

finally had a good light for my latest card....

The first card is the CCG color challenge #205

Using Basic Grey paper and letter stickers, Making Memories stamps for the banner, Prima flowers, Maya Road chipdoard key and Matha Stewart for the punched butterflies.

This second card was one that I've set aside while making the one just on top because of a lack of inspiration... probably the color palette of the color combo was what helped me finish it.

Using K&Co paper, Prima flowers, October Afternoon letter stickers and Offray ribbon.

I decided that from now on, I will keep a notepad with me and will note the products that I'm using while srapping... Because I always forget the name of the collection or style when i sit and write for my blog... Hoping that by creating that way it will make it easier for me and you will be able to compare or maybe get the products if you want or inspire if you already possess the product.

Been busy lately....

I was very busy the last couple days with chores and lots of other things that I didn't create much... I created two cards today that i'll post next week or the day after beause I still need to take pictures.... but for now here are two cards I created about two weeks ago...

This one took 3 days to finish! I had picked the paper, the die cut and the punched border but couldn't figure out what to do with it... so I looked at it again and again.... until I decided I had to finish it if I wanted to create something else one day!! (I try to always work one project at a time because otherwise I don't complete them or end up with too many here and there.)

I have to say that I'm pleased with the results....

This second one is the Color Combo Galore challenge #204. Very different from the one showed on top, but is still one of my favorites... it's a boy theme card, which I find hard to create because of the colors and I never know what embellisments to use...

I'll post the color challenge #205 which is completed and another creation in the same color combination in a few days...

Considering selling on Esty....

Lately, I've been thinking about opening an online scrapbook store...If I do, it won't happen before a couple of months, maybe next year, I don't know yet.... But meanwhile, I thought about selling my cards. I created a few lately and will create lot more in the weeks to come. Instead of letting them catch dust... why not sell them...

s'inspirer de son propre projet.....

La carte crée hier matin pour le défi couleur #203 de Combo Galore m'a tellement plus avec le choix des papiers et des accessoires qu'en regardant ma table et mes retailles toujours dessus, je me suis dites: "pourquoi pas en crée une autre dans le même esprit? Tout est déjà sortie, alors..!" Je me suis donc mis à l'oeuvre en m'inspirant de ma réalisation précédente et par le fait même maximisant l'utilisation de mes retailles de papier...

Mes cartes de la semaine.....

Cette semaine, je suis toujours inspirée par la création de cartes!!!! Avec le congé de maternité le budget est beaucoup plus serré et j'essaie d'utiliser au maximum mon matériel déjà en main. Donc trois nouvelles cartes et une étant le défi couleur du week-end de Combo Galore.

Pour celle-ci j'ai ressortis les "brads"(blanc de mémoire, comment dit-on en français?)

un autre truc lorsque le noeud de la boucle refuse de coopérer, agrémenter-la!

J'ai quelques difficultés à rendre la couleur verte sur photo! Certains tons de vert paraissent brun-beige, j'essaie de prendre mes photos à la lumière naturel du jour, mais si vous avez une solution, s-v-p, faites-moi en part.

Ceci est le défi du week-end, publié depuis hier seulement. J'aime vraiment participer à ce défi parce qu'il me permet d'essayer des combinaisons auxquelles je ne penserais peut-être pas, de sortir des produits que je n'utilisait plus et/ou même de pousser davantage ma créativité lors de défi ou je ne possède pas beaucoup de matériel aux qualités requise!

Vraiment, cette fois-ci. je dois admettre que je suis heureuse du résultat! Une carte toute en légèreté et en simplicité avec ma signature, papillons et pointillés :)

2 nouvelles cartes....

La semaine dernière, je ne me sentais pas trop bien, j'avais des douleurs au ventre. Après quelques tests fait à l'hôpital, finalement je n'ai rien de grave. Mes douleurs sont maintenant moindre et je ne suis installé à ma table. J'ai donc crée deux cartes, la première étant le challenge de couleur #202 de combo galore et la deuxième une inspiration du moment. Pour la dernière, j'ai utilisé une collection plus ancienne de Basic Grey...

Un autre défi couleur.... #201

Une carte simple pour le défi couleur #201 de Combo Galore http://colorcombosgalore.ning.com/ , une défi comprenant celui de la designer plutôt élaboré... en effet il fallait incorporer, feuille, métal, polka dots, 3 cercles et tissus en plus des 4 couleurs présélectionnés.

Premier LO de William

Ma première page mettant en vedette mon fils, William. J'ai réalisée celle-ci avec le color combo challenge #200 de http://colorcombosgalore.ning.com/ Les couleurs étaient parfaite pour une page de bébé garçon. n'ayant pas beaucoup de produits dans cette palette couleurs, je n'ai eu d'autre choix que d'opter pour un style simple, ce qui est bien parce que je trouve compliqué de m'arrêter parfois ;)

Mes cartes de remerciements, bébé est né...

J'ai finalement terminé mes cartes hier, un peu plus tard que prévu, mais il a fait une de ces chaleurs ici!! L'envie était plutôt de passer du temps à la piscine qu'au scrapbooking! Donc l'idée derrière mes cartes était bien évidemment d'offrir aux membres de notre famille et à nos amies une photo de notre fils, William. J'ai donc acheté un ensemble de cartes et d'enveloppes que j'ai modifier quelque peu pour arrivé à mon résultat désiré. Je me suis procurer l'image du bébé sur un site de téléchargements d'image digitales. http://www.mygrafico.com/ Donc une carte simple remplie de souvenirs....

mon projet d'aujourd'hui...

Donc aujourd'hui j'ai pour but de terminer mes cartes de l'arrivé de bébé.... maintenant que j'ai reçu les photos du photographe et que la routine de William s'installe, je commence à avoir un peu plus de temps pour moi.... d'ici la fin de la journée ou tout au plus demain mini je devrais avoir complété ma tâche. Les photos seront à suivre sous peu...

Color Combo Challenge #199

Le défi #199 a débuté depuis hier et je me suis mis à la création dès sa publication! J'avais plusieurs idées en tête, faire une carte d'inspiration plus romantique, plus graphique ou encore même plus amusante... en jouant avec mon matériel, j'ai opté pour une carte romantique. J'apprécie beaucoup participer à ce genre de défi parce que c'est divertissant et que ça me pousse à faire quelques projets, ce n'est pas l'envie qui me manque, mais plutôt le temps! (j'opte pour des cartes parce que c'est plus rapide...avec le bébé c'est difficile de m'embarquer dans une page parce que c'est long et que je suis toujours interrompu lol) Donc c'est un rendez-vous au http://colorcombosgalore.ning.com/ pour vous inspirer...

Color Combo Challenge #198

   

Il y a plusieurs sites et blogs que je visite sur une base régulière et cette semaine par le biais du blog Sweat About Me http://www.sweetaboutme-tanya.blogspot.com/, j'ai visiter le site d'échange http://colorcombosgalore.ning.com/ , une page proposant des défis couleurs, ainsi qu'un défi supplémentaire optionnel portant sur le style. En regardant les défis précédants, j'ai trouvé les suggestions intéressantes et inspirantes. Les projets de l'équipe de designers étant également appréciables. J'ai donc décidé de joindre ce groupe et d'essayer a mon tour le combo en cours, ce dernier ce terminant a minuit ce soir... Voilà donc le défi et mon interprétation.

Carte pour la fête des mères et mises à jour de mon statut personnel....

J'ai crée cette carte pour ma mère à l'occasion de la fête des mères à l'aide du bloc de papier 6x6 de Basic Grey Hello Licious, la fleur en carton aggloméré également de Basic Grey mais de la collection Olivia et les fleurs sont de prima. J'ai poinçonné les papillons avec le poinçon de Martha stewart - 3 in 1 Classic Butterfly et ai utilisé un poinçon à bordure de ek success.
J'aime vraiment l'ensemble de cette carte; les couleurs, les dimensions, la fluidité, la féminité...

Sur un niveau plus personnel... le délai pour ce "post" est du à l'arrivé de mon poupon! Il est venu au monde le 7 mai et depuis il occupe tout mon temps... nous travaillons à instaurer une routine, mais a 2 mois ce n'est toujours pas évident et lorsque je viens finalement à avoir un peu de temps pour moi j'essaie de profiter de l'été, prendre un peu d'air! Mon objectif est de terminer mes cartes soulignant l'arrivée de bébé (je suis un peu tard, mais je pensais les finir avant l'accouchement!). Donc je vous laisse un beau bonjour avec une petite photo de William!
